Barbara Chang

Barbara helped start NPower NY and served as its executive director since its inception in 2001. Barbara has led her team out of the early startup stage and through its current extended period of growth and expansion. NPower NY is the largest affiliate of the NPower network, a federation of a dozen affiliates located in major markets across the country; and in August 2007, it assumed the leadership of the NPower Network.

Barbara has over 20 years of managerial experience in various nonprofits in the New York metropolitan area including the New York Public Interest Research Group, Planned Parenthood and the Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC). In much of her work in the sector, Barbara has concentrated her efforts on building the capacity of the nonprofit community to achieve greater impact on their missions.

She lives with her three children and her husband on Long Island. The family's most enjoyable pastime is eating out so they can avoid having to endure mom's cooking. Second on the list is going on vacation, so they can eat out and avoid having to endure mom's cooking.
