Creating Brighter Futures

The existing website was outdated and very image heavy. The goals and programs were not clearly visible to visitors and potential donors when they visited the website. The organization didn't have an easy and efficient way to update the web site on a regular basis.

NPower Texas redesigned the web site so that funders got a clear picture of the mission and how they can make a difference in the lives of children. When you visit the web site, you are greeted with a banner that rotates out photos of children but it also clearly displays the mission of the Children's Shelter. On the left hand side of the website, there are "action items" available at all times such as donate now, volunteer and host an event.

NPower Texas also created on the homepage, 4 mini banners to highlight some of the key programs offered to children in need.

NPower Texas implemented PayPal as a means to accept donations. In addition, the web site includes a password protected area that is accessible to employees and board members. Through the employee portal, they can view job opportunities and internal information. Through the board portal, they have access to the employee information as well as board minutes, notes and meeting reminders. NPower Texas implemented a content management system so that the organization could update the web site on a regular basis to keep the information fresh.

The mission of the Children's Shelter is now clear making it easier to reach out to potential donors. There are clear action items on the web site making it easier for visitors to become advocates of the Children's Shelter. The content on the web site can now stay fresh and updated with the help of a content management system.

At The Children's Shelter we provide emergency shelter services, basic and therapeutic foster care as well as special needs adoption. Also, The Children's Shelter strives to get to the root of the issue of child abuse by providing teen parenting services and prevention programs.
