When Sean Neal was attending high school at Baltimore’s Polytechnic Institute, he didn’t know exactly what he wanted to do, but he did know that he wanted to do something with computer science. He went to college hoping to achieve a degree in computer science, but he quickly realized that college was not for him. He ended up leaving after only one semester and was ready to give up on his dream of getting into the tech field. He even considered getting a CDL license to be able to drive trucks. However, he didn’t pursue that path and instead found himself working warehouse jobs. It didn’t take long for Sean to realize he needed a new plan.
His sister told him about the NPower program as she had a friend who was an instructor there. Taking a chance on this program, he saw it as the steppingstone he needed to break into the cybersecurity field. His ultimate goal is to work in database administration and potentially run his own company. Sean is eager to see what the future holds for him and remains focused on making his mark in tech.
