Citi Partnership: Lasting Impact Through Intentional Volunteerism

As dedicated supporters of NPower for over a decade, Citi and the Citi Foundation have played a significant role in helping NPower create a positive and lasting impact for the individuals and communities we serve. They have leveraged a range of approaches to engage with different aspects of NPower’s programming. This includes programmatic funding from the Citi Foundation and engagement with Citi through mentorships, internships and apprenticeships. It also includes Citi employees serving as members of our regional and national boards sharing strategic counsel and innovative ideas and Citi volunteers contributing over 18,000+ volunteer hours to date. Together, these activities have enabled NPower to reach more students while offering wraparound support to help students successfully complete the program.

Citi Foundation has been a dedicated champion in creating a more equitable tech industry, from supporting initiatives that help young women access the skills needed to launch careers in the tech industry through the Pathways to Progress initiative to becoming the founding partner of NPower’s Command Shift Coalition, a national consortium of women and allies who advocate for strategies that invest in and inspire the advancement of young women in tech careers.

Because of volunteer partners like Citi we are able enhance the delivery of our program for our students on their path to high-quality tech careers and economic mobility. As we continue to celebrate National Volunteer Month, we want to recognize and acknowledge Holli Parrish, Assistant Program Manager, U.S. Volunteers Team at Citi, who has been instrumental in championing the importance of volunteerism. Passionate about encouraging not only participants but also volunteers in their efforts, Holli has created an empowering ripple effect.

“It’s easy to share volunteer opportunities with colleagues when you believe in the work that a particular non-profit organization is doing. The team at NPower has worked tirelessly in helping men and women across the United States hone their skills by giving them access to corporate professionals in an array of areas of expertise. The men and women who participate in NPower’s program are taking ownership of their professional development and, it is my pleasure to be on this journey with them helping to shape the lives of their program participants and become better members of the communities they serve.”

Together, we are making a difference in the communities that we serve. Thank you, Holli and the entire Citi and Citi Foundation teams, for your support and belief in our mission.
